Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  What time does the event start?

A.  Band on the Sand begins at 4:00pm until dusk.

 

Q.  Who puts the event on? Who is Be the Good?

A.  Be the Good is a 501c3 non profit organization who continues giving back to the community and surrounding organizations. We regularly prepare meals for the Long Beach Ronald Mcdonald House next to Miller Children’s Hospital.  We also conduct bingo at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital where the winners receive canteen vouchers that can be used at the hospitals general store for toiletries, clothing, and food.

 

Q.  Will there be Fire Works?

A.  Band on the Sand does not provide the Fire Work display.  We will enjoy a spectacular view at dusk from the Boat House on the Bay provided by Children Today. https://www.childrentoday.org/

 

Q.  Who is invited?

A.  This is a community event enjoyed by the whole family, not limited to Seal Beach.  Open to all who want to enjoy a fun safe family environment.

 

Q.  Will my kids have something to do?

A.  Absolutely! This will be our second year offering our adventure zone.  Bungee, Rock Climbing and Slide.  There will also be an area for corn hole games, giant connect four, big Jenga and let’s not forget the carnival games.

 

Q.  Does it cost to get in?

A.  Absolutely not!  This is a free event so feel free to bring your own blanket and chairs.

 

Q.  What if I don’t want to drag all my stuff on the sand?

A.  You could purchase a VIP table for $225.00 that includes 10 chairs and table cloth.  Umbrellas could be added for a fee as could additional chairs.

 

Q.  Will there be a table decorating contest again?  Does it have to be 4th of July themed?

A.  Yes there is a table decorating contest back by popular demand. Winner will receive a free table at Band on the Sand 2020. Be creative, any theme is allowed.  Maybe a company table, favorite interest, beach or past time.  Judging will take place at 5:00pm and announced during the break at 6:00pm.

 

Q.  Are you giving bikes away like last year?

A.  Yes in addition to some additional prizes that include local restaurants, business gift certificates and our auction that includes South West Airline Tickets and a Yacht cruise.  

 

Q. Will there be food?  Can I bring my own?

A.  Yes, you are allowed to bring your own food or take advantage of the many food trucks ready to accommodate all pallets.  

 

Q.  Is alcohol allowed?

A.  All visible alcohol will be discarded into trash receptacles.  This is a family event and disorderly conduct will be immediately remedied. 

 

Q.  Will there be bathrooms?

A.  Yes, we have made sure to provide plenty of portable restrooms placed in various locations of the event.

 

Q.  What time can we set up?

A.  It’s a long process preparing for the event.  We ask that all attendees arrive after 12:00 noon.

 

Q.  Can we Uber or Lyft?

A.  Yes, we encourage both and to better manage the flow of the beach lot it has been advised by SBPD that all Lyft/Uber pick ups and drop offs take place on 2nd and Ocean Blvd.
